Renaming the heading after linking the heading should not cause the link to break

The current implementation is using the heading name as the # locator. Let this implementation be intact. But when the user is going to use any heading as a link, we need to start maintaining a mapping between that link and its # locator. From that point on, we need not change the # locator based on the heading name change(even if the heading is deleted).
Please note that in the link pop up modal, we are only showing the heading name in the drop down, hence the UI will also stay unaffected. This solution will also not hinder our Block level styling customization.
If we agree on this requirement, I will bring this to our requirement review where we can discuss the other impact areas for this change like migration and how we can accommodate this request with the "Link to paragraph of other articles" feature.

Doc360 Team - Thank you for reviving this issue. It's been around a long time (since 2022!) so having it addressed would be appreciated greatly.

Renaming section title breaks anchor lnik

Suppose I have an article heading (e.g., h2). I link to it via the drop-down menu in the Link dialog box (Heading Three)
Problem: If at some future point, I rename the article heading (say, to Heading Three - Test), the link breaks b/c it's not updated to reflect the revised heading name.
This issue discourages us from leveraging this feature.
Thank you for your attention.

Stephen Kairys Shaunna Lacey we consider this as a functional gap which wasn't implemented. We will take it forward and analyse it.

Thiru: Any update on this item?

Hi Stephen Kairys
Greetings!!! Thank you for raising your concern. When we change the headings, the new heading will reflect automatically in the drop down, however the previously added link with the old heading will not get updated automatically. This is the current implementation.
However we could see how badly it impacts your needs. We will raise this initernally with our team and do the needful at the earliest.

Vidhya: Thank you for your response.I'll look forward to further updates.

Hi Doc360
Do you have an ETA on this issue? It's preventing us from doing best practices for referencing section headers by selecting section name when creating a link. Thanks.
Shaunna Lacey
Vidhya: This is also causing us a lot of issues. We have to use headings as anchor links (can't add anchors anywhere in a doc) and this is making updating our documentation a lot more difficult. Every time we change a heading we are potentially breaking a lot of links. Our headings often represent setting names which do change sometimes.

Shaunna Lacey: Hi Shaunna Lacey We could truly understand your pain points here. Since the current functionality has to be completely revamped we need some time to resolve the issue. Also, I have raised this issue internally and our team will do their best at the earliest. We appreciate your patience and cooperation
