Related Articles Should Not Include Linked Articles

Would like NOT see Linked articles in the drop-down list when selected a Related article. Should only display the original version of an article.

I rarely leave comments against a particular suggestion, but this is one that I felt it necessary. The reason why showing each copy of the linked articles (as it's currently built) is important is because it allows us (as the editors/admins) to control the reader experience of which category is open on the left side navigation, and therefore which articles are the "previous" and "next" at the bottom of the article.
If we were only ever able to select the "original' article, then when users open the related article, they could end up in a completely different category with a bunch of other articles showing up on their lefthand nav that aren't relevant to them

Mary Theis to ensure clarity on the request, in the article content when phrase is linked to another article and same article should not displayed in the related articles list? If that is the expectation, it doesn't make it as a right use case because content of the linked article mostly will be relevant to the current article content.

Thiru: Hi Thiru - When displaying articles to add to Related articles, I would prefer if only the original articles are displayed and not the Linked versions of those articles. Having the Linked articles along with the original articles is redundant and not needed.

Thiru: Presumably, one would only be searching for articles in the Portal, when they're wanting to Edit them (others may have another reason but I can't think of one for myself or my team). Since you can't edit a linked article, it doesn't make sense for me that they're showing up in the search results.

Personally, I'd like to see the linked article, but marked with a symbol that identifies it as a linked version.

Shawn Wilson: Would be good to have a toggle for both options.
