Option to Disable Retroactive Read Receipt Requirement

We would like to be able to turn on automatic Read Receipt requirement for all articles, but we do not want current users to have to acknowledge every article. This would also be a burden for new readers who enter our system.
We would like a way to reset or remove the read receipt requirement somehow to avoid this issue.

Are you looking to enable Read Receipts automatically for all newly published articles, while excluding existing articles from requiring acknowledgment?
When you mention resetting or removing the read receipt requirement, do you expect:
A way to clear previously required acknowledgments, or
A way to apply the requirement only from a specific date onward?
Should this behavior apply to all readers globally, or should it be configurable per workspace, category, or user group?
