Yes we do support "Open links in new tab" option for both of our editors. Hence request you to leverage the functionality and closing this item.

Magnificent Grasshopper: The ask is to be able to make this the default experience. Right now every link needs this extra set of steps.

As of now, we have an option to open in a new tab while adding links to the article. We will be working at the project level as an enhancement in future. We do not have any time line on this.
