Improve Visual Indicators for Partial Category Access in User Permissions

Currently, when editing a user's category permissions under Content Role & Access, it is difficult to identify whether a parent category has partial access granted through its child categories.
The request is to display an indeterminate state (hyphen) for parent categories when only some of their child categories are selected, similar to how it is currently shown for Workspace and Language levels. Additionally, a more distinct visual indicator (such as a different color or style) could be considered to better differentiate between:
Fully selected categories (checkmark)
Partially selected categories (hyphen)
Unselected categories (empty checkbox)
This enhancement would improve visibility and make it easier for administrators to understand user permissions at a glance when managing category access.

Hi Iris Sailfish Vijay
Thank you for the detailed feedback and suggestion.
We understand how displaying an indeterminate state for parent categories could provide better visibility into category-level permissions, particularly when access is granted only to a subset of child categories. A clearer visual distinction between fully selected, partially selected, and unselected categories could help administrators more easily understand and manage user permissions.
We will evaluate this user experience enhancement as part of our ongoing review of permission management workflows. We will assess the proposed behavior and visual indicators to determine how they can improve clarity and usability within the Content Role & Access experience.
We appreciate the thoughtful suggestion and the context you've provided.
