Navin Kumar Hi,
Okay, it's now possible to export articles as a web help file and make them available offline. That is great! As I said, we have our online help file in a .chm file. It would be great if we could import this .chm file into our knowledge base as an article. This is something we would only have to do once. Would it be possible to import the .chm file into our knowledge base?

Similar to PDF/File Viewer, allow for a viewer of CHM help files. Files should also be searchable

hi gilbert,
We are currently working on a functionality to allow the users to export their project as a Web help file. Exporting as a Web help file will ensure that the customers have the media's supported in the Offline format as well. This is a much more sophisticated format than the CHM export as CHM is a deprecated technology and will not have any support.
Please do let us know if exporting as a Web help file will solve your problem. Feel free to share more information to us regarding the use case for which you would be needing the CHM export.
Thank you!

Hello Navinkumar,
That's a good idea. The .chm file is actually technologically obsolete.
Can you tell me exactly which web help file you are referring to? I mean, what file extension exactly? So that we can check internally how to connect this file with our software. Thank you!
The use case is that we create documentation for the oil and gas industry. So our documents are used in the industry terminal. But for security reasons, many terminals do not allow the use of the Internet. So we need the documents offline. We have been using .chm files to solve this problem. The .chm files help us to provide a context-sensitive help. This is also one of our requirement regarding the web help file.

Hi gilbert,
Please find the details regarding the web help file below,
What it is:
Web Help is a format for creating browser-based documentation, allowing users to access help content through a web browser.
How it works:
It typically involves a set of HTML files, images, CSS, and script files that are static and independent of the documentation tool used to create them.
Benefits:
Accessibility: Web Help documentation can be accessed on any device with a web browser, making it highly portable.
Offline Access: Web Help files can be stored locally and accessed even without an internet connection.
Customization: Web Help allows for customization of the look and feel of the documentation through CSS and other web technologies.
Navigation: Web Help often includes features like a table of contents and search functionality for easy navigation.
Use Cases:
Isolated Networks: Web Help is particularly useful for organizations with isolated networks where internet access is limited or unavailable.
Software Documentation: It's a common format for providing help documentation for software applications.
Online Manuals: Web Help can be used to create comprehensive online manuals for various products or services.
