Exclude unpublished and deleted articles from the “Recently Modified / Updated” widget

In the Homepage, please add an option to exclude deleted, unpublished, or removed articles from appearing in the Recently Modified / Updated widget. These actions aren’t meaningful content updates and cause confusion when surfaced as modifications.
These configuration controls would be helpful so only true article updates appear in the widget.

Hi Isolated Iguana ,Flamingo pink Dolphin,
Thank you for explaining the scenario — we understand how this could create confusion for users.
To better assess the requirement, could you please clarify your expectations in more detail?
Should the “Recently Modified / Updated” widget display only:
Published articles that are currently live on the KB?
Should actions such as:
Unpublishing
Deleting
Moving to Recycle Bin
Deprecating
be completely excluded from triggering the “Updated” state?
If an article is unpublished and later republished, should that count as an update?
Should this behavior be:
A fixed default logic change,
Understanding the exact expected behavior will help us evaluate whether this should be handled as a filtering rule, a logic refinement, or a configurable setting.
Looking forward to your clarification.

Currently, we are facing an issue where unpublished or deprecated articles appear under the “Updated” widget on the homepage. This creates the misleading impression that an article has been updated, when in reality it has been removed from the documentation.
For instance, we recently removed all Gencore connectors articles from the Help Center to ensure customers do not access that documentation. However, seeing those article titles listed under the “Updated” widget may prompt users to click on them to check what has changed.
This needs to be addressed to prevent confusion and avoid any misconceptions regarding the actual status of an article.
