Edited image gives option to replace old and save in same folder

When editing an image, I want to have the option to replace the old image with the new edited one or to save it as a new image, name it, and save it to the same folder the other image was located for better organization of drive images.
Currently, when I edit an image from inserting it in an article, it becomes a new image with a generic numbered name, and does not save in the same folder.

Hi Raspberry Basilisk,
Thank you for sharing this feedback.
We understand the need for better control when editing images within articles, especially the ability to:
Replace the existing image instead of always creating a new one
Save edited images with a custom name
Retain the same folder location in Drive for better organization
Currently, edited images are saved as new files with system-generated names, which can make file management difficult at scale.
We’ll review this internally and check the feasibility of improving the image editing workflow to support these scenarios.
We’ll share an update once we have more clarity from our evaluation.
