One of our customers Manish J would like to have this option and shared the following feedback
"The problem statement is that we have multiple guides in one category and we want to list them alphabetically. Currently there is no option to resolve this issue but manually drag and drop. However, looking at the volume of the guides, this is very difficult and time-consuming. I tried for a few, but at the cost of too much time and effort. Doc360 should have some resolution for this as this is a common issue and a bad user experience.
Hence, I need your help to fix this issue asap. "

For us we wanted the option to sort everything in folders in alphabetical order. We can arrange the folders in an order that makes sense to our customers but the articles need to be sorted in some way that makes sense and then any new articles added would fall into the right place alphabetically

Thank you for reaching out to us with your request regarding the possibility of alphabetically ordering the categories in Document360.
To better understand your requirements and provide the most accurate solution, could you please help us with a few clarifications?
Scope of Alphabetical Ordering: Are you looking to alphabetically order only the immediate subcategories within a parent category, or would you like all nested subcategories to be ordered alphabetically as well or at the root level?
Frequency of Ordering: Is this alphabetical ordering intended to be a one-time setup, or would you need the categories to automatically reorder alphabetically whenever new categories are added?
Current Setup: Could you please provide a brief overview of your current category structure and how you are currently managing the ordering of categories?
User Access: Will all users have the ability to see and manage this alphabetical ordering, or will it be restricted to specific roles or users within your team?
Impact on Existing Categories: Are there any specific categories that you would like to remain in their current order for reasons such as priority or visibility?

Erica Dyson thanks for sharing your feedback. We have this raised by our other users, would like to merge the same for better reach. Also sorting, please be known that sorting within category would also involve time based on the number articles in it. Few users might have less, say 10 articles , others might have 100 articles. As you know the representation of the category manager is a tree like-structure and making such changes to accomplish sorting will make an impact.
Lets take a scenarion where there are multiple contributors performing actions. In this case, user A is within category editing an article, user B is trying to restructure the category, user C is also trying to create an article. All these actions are going to impact the category and its article. System will have to choose which ones needs to be prioritized, and while B is restructing, A & C will to get view that their documentation is getting loading and causes confusion , indeed giving bad user experience. So sorting articles within category is not in our pipeline, however we can see if we could enable sorting at the category level. There also we need to ensure above scenario & challenges can be addressed before we pick it up for implementation.

Agree with all that's been said. This needs to be a priority option. I spent a good hour or two yesterday adding and then alphabetizing articles!

Include Import option to Hover method

One way to add an article is to hover over an existing article ("Method 1" in your documentation). A plus sign appears, allowing the user to add an article or category. This is useful when you want to place the new article in a specific location in the list. However, as I usually import Word documents, I cannot use this feature. Moreover, as I keep my article lists in alphabetical order, I have to manually relocate each article after importing it. It would save me a time-consuming step to be able to import using the plus sign.
