Allow for JWT and Self registration
Lisa Young
We have two software versions, v6.5 and v7.0. Our v6.5 users will need to login with a username and password, manually, while our v7.0 users we wish to be able to use JWT. Our use case is that customers slowly upgrade their versions, there will never be a single point in time where all of our users will be on one version where we could make the cut over to JWT for everyone all at once. The limitation of only being able to use JWT OR a sign up/sign in page is very limiting for our use case. We really need to have both options available. This could affect our usage of Doc360.

Lisa Young thanks for more details into this. I will evaluate the possibilities with our Engineering and get back to you by next week.

@Lisa Young Thanks for explaining your scenario in detail. We can understand the importance of readers' workflow you would to expect. Based on the statement, we can understand that your project contains 2 workspaces, each workspace containing data for your differet version. Based on the reader sign-in authentication being performed, the readers should be navigated to their respective software versions documentation.
We would like you to try this scenario and keep us posted. When the JWT readers in the system, then 2 Reader Groups in Document360 and assign content access to your workspaces. Now you would be able to view the GroupID value for those Reader Groups, copy their values and in your JWT associate this ID's with respective users. This would resolve your scenario. Kindly let us know.

Thiru: Hi Thiru, it is my understanding despite the reader groups set up, our account cannot allow for JWT AND self-sign up. Once JWT is enabled it disables self-sign up.
Our software, called Tempo, would need to have customers on Tempo v7.0 (not referring to a documentation version) using JWT, customers on older versions of our software, titled Tempo v6.5 which we cannot update the code to include JWT for, would need to manually sign in.
I like your suggestion of user groups to help support the differentiation of articles once they land in doc360 and will bring that back to my team for discussion but I don't think what you're describing solves for our current issue.
