Ability to Control Search Result Ranking for Similar Articles
Akash Sivaraman
Currently, when multiple Knowledge Base (KB) articles contain similar content, the search results do not always display the most relevant or preferred articles at the top. This can lead to difficulty in finding the most accurate or frequently referenced content. We request the ability to manually or dynamically control the order in which articles appear in search results.

Hi! I want to provide more context regarding this request.
We use Workspaces to publish multiple versions of our documentation. Typically, we maintain two versions for customers: 'Latest' and a specific previous version. Before starting work on a new release, I create a copy of 'Latest' to serve as the previous version.
Currently, search results prioritize articles from the previous version over those in 'Latest'. Would it be possible to prioritize 'Latest' version articles in search results when the same article exists in both versions?

hi Akash Sivaraman,
I would request some additional detail here.
- How does the customer want to manually control the order in which articles appear in the search results, how do they envision this feature.
- Coming to the other option - Please let us know what does dynamically control the order mean.
I would suggest to post some examples of how the search results are displayed now Vs How they want the search results to be displayed.
Thank you!
